  • Thanks for the write up! I had no idea this is why Suicide Squad was such a letdown.

Wonder woman is, in my opinion, an odd choice for a video game. I think it could be really good, and her rope would translate well to video game mechanics, but it doesn’t feel like Wonder Womans time to shine right now

Id argue that I felt the same about Batman not being translatable to a game during the 2000s. Video games based on comics were absolutely awful. Superman 64 was a nightmare, and Batman games were beat-em-ups or platformers.

But really smart creatives made the Arkham series work. So I’m optimistic that in the hands of strong visionaries, it’s absolutely possible.

Now, do I think WB has the capacity to make a good Wonder Woman game? Haha nope. Not after what they’ve shown in the last few years.

I have lost my job to wider cuts a few times myself and on reflection, I think I prefer being “aligned” or “realigned” inasmuch as it makes me feel like a cool laser satellite. But I am not immune to the frictive charms of being “restructured”, which makes me feel like a Transformer

I absolutely love the comments on RPS. It’s hits like these which makes me keep coming back.

  • My first car did this rattle thing when you drove it past 15 miles. The windows would shake. Sometimes, the lock would stick and I had to “shake” the door to exit. One time, I turned the car on with the wrong key. The brakes were loose, where I had to slam on it to get it to stop. The backseat chairs were filled with stains. There were multiple dents on the side - I lived in a bad neighborhood so random dings all the time from other drivers.

When I finally upgraded, I really felt like I had to pay THEM to take it. So when they made me an offer like $400, I said yes immediately. It was their problem now.

Damn the downvotes. Where is OP wrong?

    1. Wikipedia CEO literally said that’s what he wants. He wants people to debate. He’s done interviews where he doesn’t want a single person to be the source of truth. The chaos is what brings consensus.

    2. You have to be stupid if you don’t think companies don’t pay people for this. It’s really not difficult to hire a “Reputation Management” team to sprinkle positive information or at least control it. Im in team meetings about it, where we have staff members who moderate major social groups and lie about endorsements.

  • Most of them didn’t allow registration. Then for the ones I did find, streaming videos was very slow and laggy. In some cases, I couldn’t even view videos. And then, it seemed that I could only search for videos that existed on that particular instance.

As a user, I feel this pain. The defenders of how “easy” it is to join federated services, it really isn’t. There’s choice paralysis as well as waiting for registration and verification. It’s not smooth at all. Take a stop watch and set up a YouTube account, upload a video of a cat’s butt, and it’s like 2 minutes.

As a person who rolled out my own servers, I understand the barriers. I don’t have registration because my $5/month server can’t handle it, performance-wise or spammers. Even uploading things on my server is slow.

Hard problem to solve tbh and I don’t have a solution
