AI companies are switching to token based billing. Money is running out and heavy AI users are going to have to pay closer to the real price. People suddenly having to pay 10 times as much. You can just as well hire an intern for that money.

Like that word. They’re isn’t anything temperature related in that sentence. It’s impressive how long “cool” keeps being used.

These words are important though. Without them you get in a 1984 world where some fool forces people to use double plus good.

There isn’t enough terrorism to justify things with that, so children it is.

Sounds completely straightforward that if you own 90% of the wealth, you pay 90% of the tax. And they’ll fight you till the bitter end to convince everybody otherwise.

Fuel tax only pays 25% of the cost of roads.

Later on the top 1% will start to extract all wealth from the 1-10% class. Then the 0.1% will do the same. Concentration of wealth will continue.

These drivers are their own business and they’re just maximizing revenue according to market incentives, just like any other business. So Pizza Hut has enshittified themselves. Well done. I guess it looked a lot better in the excel sheet and presentation.

That’s a good way to start a general strike in the country.

Yeah, we were all sitting in the office with headphones to isolate from the office noise and distractions so we could concentrate and getting work done.

Just ask who got the gains in the last industrial revolution and who got to live in the slums, and how they plan to do things differently now.

It’s in practice a class based society with the big families at the top like ancient nobility. Seems they’re having a little “let them eat cake” moment.

At that point, it’s purely ideology and contempt for anyone beneath them.

The uncomfortable part of all this is that it is not a technology problem. It is a leadership problem. AI does not make bad executives worse. It gives them a faster way to prove they are bad.

Harsh but true

CEOs are really herd animals, always looking what the other guy is doing and living in a continuous fear of missing out the next big thing. It sure doesn’t help with shareholders breathing down their neck pushing for short term profit and growth.

If every company is using the same few AIs, they’re basically the same company. Everything unique about them will deteriorate until it’s just corporate grey goo.
