  • Love does not require vulnerability in any shared sense. It can absolutely exist without it. I would argue that a relationship isn’t very healthy without some concept of shared vulnerability but love isn’t a relationship and a relationship isn’t love.

Many relationships are purely based on a concept of “I know what my partner is thinking/feeling” when nothing is shared. There are many connections that just work, for various reasons.

I’m nearing 50 and didn’t even know what vulnerability actually was (I had a concept but not an experience. I didn’t know what I didn’t know) until my early 40’s. And I’m still shit at vulnerability and have roughly as much experience with using a Bat’leth in combat as I do being vulnerable. But believe me, I’ve been in love many times.

  • Most of my staples have been mentioned, but I want to give a shout out to Food Wishes, America’s Test Kitchen and That Dude Can Cook, Chef Jean-Pierre. Been cooking staples for years now. Also, Hey Grill Hey but it’s younger.

For drinks, How To Drink (though I feel they’ve been chasing algorithms and losing focus and soul), City-Steady Brewing, Cocktail Chemistry and Cocktail Time with Kevin Kos.

For politics, I go to Parkrose Permaculture and Farm to Taber. Both excellent and insightful even if I’m not always in full agreement.

For woodworking, it’s StumpyNubs, Blacktail Studio (highly recommend even if you’re not into woodworking), The Wood Whisperer. Lincoln Street Woodworking is newer but I still enjoy it.

I’m a car guy and honestly this space has become dismal. I watch Stay Tuned every Friday or weekend at least. I voted my conscience and unsubbed from Matt’s Offroading, Rat Rod Racing, Robby Layton and all of the Utahbers. While I can’t be certain I’m guessing they all voted for Trump and I just can’t support that shit. Oh and I really enjoy Regular Car Reviews
