Holy shit, forgot all about that one but just hearing the title took me way back. What a time capsule to look back on.
Maybe some of those accents haven’t aged so well though…

They don’t. I know one indie developer once privately told me they wished they could.

Steam has far greater reach than 4chan. 4chan is the quarantine in your analogy, everyone else left that Nazi Bar after /pol/ happened.
If you think you can teach the average Steam user critical thinking skills, I welcome you to go ahead and try. Have fun.

Forcing the most radical extremists underground won’t deprogram them, but it will make it significantly more difficult for them to spread propaganda. The point of deplatforming is to shut down the pipeline so that fewer people get radicalized.

I never said Steam was the only website on the internet with problems. But I’m replying to a thread specifically about Steam.

Steam Forums are slowly devolving into one of the worst right-wing incubators because they refuse to proactively moderate. Any time a game gets declared a target by the post-Gamergate crowd, the boards become flooded with propaganda, and Valve does not care.
I want shorter games with worse graphics made by people who are paid more to work less and I’m not kidding.

It’s been a full decade since the last main series Puyo Puyo game, and Sega just keeps teasing us with shitty crossovers.

What features? What do you need software for?

Nearly all modern controllers support Xinput, an open API that will just work out of the box with no drivers needed.

Mega Knockdown is a turn-based fighting game that’s super simple to pick up and play while still offering a surprising amount of depth.
I’m here at Combo Breaker 2026 where we just had a small side tournament for the game last night, hosted by the developer. I took second.
I played the DS version and found it to be kinda bland and cookie-cutter. Can’t even remember anything specific about it honestly, I just remember it being a very forgettable game. Couldn’t tell you if the PS1 version was any better, but I doubt it.

I feel like I’ve heard this every console generation, that this time will be the end of consoles for real you guys!
I liked Etrian Odyssey IV’s subclass flexibility so much that I had a hard time going back to Etrian Odyssey Untold without it.

My rig still runs all of my favorite 2D indie games, so I’m good.
Gambling as an industry should not exist. It’s just predatory.

I wouldn’t call any console I own a disappointment, even the Wii U had several games I loved and put too many hours into. But the system I ended up playing the least was the Steam Deck. It’s just too bulky to feel like a proper portable, not nearly as cozy as the Nintendo handhelds I grew up on. I get some use taking it to FGC events as a monitorless setup (and I will be bringing it to Combo Breaker 2026 next week), but that’s kinda all I ended up using it for.
I still don’t regret buying it as the most important thing to happen to Linux gaming, but it was a system I bought to have more than to use. I later bought a Miyoo Mini Plus and ended up putting far more hours into that than I ever did the Deck. If anyone ever gets SteamOS running on a device in that size form factor, they’ll get my entire bank account.

Add Puyo Puyo to the list of Sega IPs suffering a fate worse than death, they sold the series’ soul to keep selling Tetris over and over. We’re never getting a main series game ever again.
I believe the meta is to not play Symphonia 2.
