That looks good. The current cats look very different from one another so I reckon that we’d only need three pictures to train it.

Unfortunately you can do damage after release so you’d need to be careful applying updates too.
We don’t let our cats out at night so it would be great to have a cat flap that knew whether each cat was in the house or not and could either lock the flap or lock it on in-only at a certain time of day.

Mildly Interesting@lemmy.world•Every shuffle of a deck of cards is most likely uniqueEnglish
4·10 days agoFrom a production point of view I think that it would be very difficult (which generally means expensive) to create a randomised deck while ensuring that the deck has all 52 cards in it (although I’m just thinking aloud and have no experience in this area so could be wrong)
However, if the starting deck is truly random then the output of the shuffle would also be random so there wouldn’t be a bell curve.

Games@lemmy.world•Why is Valve being sued for almost $900 million, but Epic Games wasn't sued when they bought Rocket League and Fall Guys to remove them from steam?English
61·15 days agoI’m pretty sure that Amazon also says that you can’t sell things on Amazon for more than you sell the same item elsewhere.
I’ve certainly seen a video claiming that.
Dogs are loving and affectionate by default but cats just need a bit of love and affection back to get there.
I wonder if the answer is to either:
- delete all posts and votes for accounts that are deleted when they are less than a day old (or whatever age works)
- or delete all posts and votes made within a day of the account being deleted
That second one protects against hacked accounts posting shit and then being deleted but I’m not sure if that’s a problem.

Games@lemmy.world•What challenge from a game isn't worth completing and what challenge from a game is worth completing?English
2·28 days agoThey weren’t trophies but I liked the challenges for Titanfall 1 that allowed you to ascend to the next level.
They were mainly using different weapons that I probably wouldn’t have tried because they didn’t seem as good as the easier to use weapons.
Also, if it’s a piece of furniture they’re absolutely not going to tell you what the measurements are.
You have ultrasonic level sensors for oil tanks so I reckon that it would work in a well.
They do seem to categorise smells as “interesting” and “not interesting”.

Mildly Interesting@lemmy.world•The measurements on my water bottle are not uniformEnglish
4·1 month agoIt depends on the units that you’re using.
They are a uniform volume apart but not a uniform length apart which is what I think is the mildly interesting part.
Mine is similar to yours in that it’s when I come back to a game after a while. My problem is that the difficulty of the game has increased in line with where I am but I’ve forgotten the moves.

3·1 month agoIt’s a tricky one.
You might argue that charities would be better off paying their CEOs a lot less but I think that is unrealistic.
You need a good CEO to manage any company that has annual revenues of $185m.
If you pay less than $500,000 then it will have a significant effect on the bottom line and that effect is likely to be more than that $500,000 per year.
As an example, if you halve the salary of the CEO then you’ve saved $250,000 per year but if the new CEO is a little worse and revenue drops by 0.25% then you’ve actually lost $200,000 per year.
It’s a fact of life that CEOs in the private sector earn a lot of money and so charities have to offer competitive rates.
Also, I’d be surprised if $500,000 isn’t significantly below market rate for a company that has revenues of $185m.

Mildly Interesting@lemmy.world•is it fair to condemn 100 people to a life of suffering just because one of them might "fuck up the entire society"?English
1·1 month agoI did read the body of the post and it just seemed like a summary of the video and didn’t have anything that I could identify as mildly interesting.

21·1 month agoI don’t think that this is the correct format for mildly interesting though. There are a million mildly interesting videos on YouTube and we wouldn’t want them all to be posted here.
They should have at least said what they found mildly interesting about it.

Mildly Interesting@lemmy.world•The UK and US Google results for "freezing definition" differ slightlyEnglish
1·2 months agoDistance / length is the worst. A lot of people still measure in feet and inches.
Those of us who use metric still probably use feet and inches to measure height of a person, miles to measure distance and miles per hour to measure speed.

41·2 months agoWe’ve got a crazy mixed system of imperial and metric units but we’ve pretty much ditched Fahrenheit. Just the older generation use that one now.
It feels very much like Ghost of Tsushima but there are a few small differences.
I only have two fighting stances unlocked the second being dual katanas.
You have a wolf that pops up and helps every now and then.
I’ve only played a few hours though and I can see a lot of unknown unlocks.

Cyberpunk 2077. I played that game all the way through three times but lost the love for it when they completely reworked the talents for the DLC. I just couldn’t get back into it after that.
