Quokk.au is an Australian owned instance, but we’re not exclusive to Australians and promote an international vibe. Can we still enter, as there’s not really an international ‘national language’ - unless we go with English being the lingua franca?
I hope I’m not wrong as well! I did my best research (I googled) and looked at the nutritional labels (100% 39g of sugar).

14·4 days agoThere’s 39 grams of sugar in a a coke can. Sugar is water soluble and 90% of the can is water that can absorb the 10% of sugar.

Let us not forget to ask: why was this place?

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Is anybody else worried about the lack of diverse opinion here?English
41·26 days agoI really doubt that, and I suspect by left you mean more akin to a right wing US Liberal type? I cannot think of a minute where actual leftists have not rallied against neoliberalism, capitalism, exploitation, and poverty.
And because conservatives lied, that’s the lefts fault? Data shows that injection sites in Canada led to reduced crime in their neighbourhoods. But it’s easier for the right to make a scapegoat instead of follow data.
Filtering out misinformation and right wing viewpoints helps solve the problem of misinformation and right wing viewpoints being spread. Which is the root cause of both of your issues.

71·26 days agoWhy don’t you provide some examples of the sort of diversity of opinion you would like to see here.
What topics do you think we would benefit from by being exposed to “diverse”/right wing views on?
I certainly can’t think of any, and it would help your argument if you could be less vague as it is to what you want to see.

123·26 days agoWe don’t need conservative viewpoints here, we have them at every other space outside of here and are bombarded with them daily while being subjected to live under them.
If more conservative instances started opening, I would defederate from them.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What phrases/sentences instantly reveal someone as a chud?English
241·1 month agoThat’s such an American take.
Here in Australia female doctor makes grammatical sense, and woman doctor sounds ridiculous. Woman doctor would have the same assumption as it also has an opposite in man doctor, which sounds equally as ridiculous unlike male doctor.
Now you could say my doctor is a woman and that makes perfect sense whereas my doctor is a female is ferengi.
I’m not going to disparage anyone for body dysmorphia, that stuff hurts.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What if moderators were assigned by post instead of community?English
7·1 month agoDoesn’t sound ideal.
Moderated communities allow topics to stay on track and fit the theme of a community. It allows you to find different comms if you don’t agree with how one is being run.
By reducing it to tags, you risk topics getting flooded with irrelevant things or bad takes, meanwhile OPs get to ensure no one in the comment can argue against whatever bad take they might make.
Basically is makes the experience worse for every other user by cluttering feeds and promoting biased moderation.
Might be the same one? And yes so so bad!
I have a wig exactly like your hair in the first picture.
I cannot confirm or deny in writing that this is the approach on quokk.au.

Fediverse@lemmy.world•What are some Fediverse server hosting tips?English
6·2 months agoUsing the same domain and swapping software is glitchy. We swapped from Lemmy to PieFed about a year ago and some things never worked right. Old comms wouldn’t update due to different IDs on other instances etc. it’s mostly resolved, took some time for some instances to clear their old history of us and what not. c/sighfi never recovered and had to be remade as c/sigh_fi.
The new account might have solved them by simply being a new account with no known data on other instances. Did the other one have the same username as your PF instance had?
