Marketing. It is very effective.

Has anyone been to any kind of convention for nerdy things. Nerds are so captured by the marketing and products being sold that they let it take over their personality and they can’t stop buying junk.

Netflix was cheap until all the content owners decided to start their own streaming sites.

Enshitification and price hikes would have kicked in the second Netflix didn’t increase subscribers.

The only healthy option here is water.

All the other options contribute to obesity. Lots of calories.

I remember having a discussion with a lady that was upset that they removed soda and juice from the vending machines at school. She claimed that juice was healthy. I told her that the problem was that all the kids are fat not that they’re low on vitamin C which is very easy to get from other foods.

Fun is not the same for everyone.

Some people like visual novels. Others prefer games with frame perfect precision that push the player’s reaction, attention and concentration.

Nothing could be for everyone and that’s fine. Something not being for you does not make it a bad design.

Cuphead is a throwback in every sense. Making it easy would just make it a throwaway game that is seen once and never again.

James Bond would make a great CRPG but most people just want another shooter.

Linus has a history of scummy behavior which turns people off.

Everything gets boring eventually. Especially things that are supposed to be funny.

Google ads are extra obnoxious making the entire platform more annoying to use and most of us will never pay for youtube. Those ads are not even selling products I would be interested in. Investment scams, car accident claim ads, AI voiced robot panda. It just annoying noise.

Nothing lasts forever.

Im not much of a PC gamer. I never wrote that the issue is exclusive to independent or PC gaming. It’s an issue that happens often in pretty much every form of entertainment.

It wasn’t badly received. Sales numbers were not great. That’s the my point.

People always notice good games. Sometimes they just don’t have mass appeal or are marketed badly.
