    Les Miserables, but it wouldn’t work.

    You would need enough female Muppets for, at minimum:

    Cosette, Fantine, Madame Thenardier, and Eponine. You could get away with casting the entire convent with penguins, I guess.

    But you run out of female Muppets surprisingly quickly. It’s Miss Piggy, Janice, Camilla, and that’s more or less it. Camilla can only make chicken noises, and even then, Fantine and Cosette need to be cast as believably related to each other, as do Madame Thenardier and Eponine.

    Then there’s the problem of Gavroche. The most likely casting would be Robin. You gonna kill Robin?

    And the natural choice for Javert is Sam the Eagle, who would never play a Frenchman.

      There were other pigs who played Miss piggy’s daughters* in the Muppet Christmas carol. Edit,: I originally called her daughter’s her sisters.
