As a former owner of a 370Z I want this car to be better. It looks the part, but it’s performance at that price just doesn’t make sense to me. For this price I can get a used C7 Z06 (with not so desirable milage) which will be a lot more fun and based on my ownership of the 370Z, more reliable too.

I actually like the styling on this one. I am not much of a Nissan fan, but this one has enough of the old design to be easily recognizable while still having new design features. It also doesn’t look overly boxy or overly bulbous, just like the initial 350z design.

There are really only two things that bother me about it. The lack of numbers in the name, just calling it the “Nissan Z”, and the price.

I don’t like the recent trend of dropping numbers from names. 350 and 370 were already good because it indicated the engine size. 350 had a 3.5L engine and the 370 had a 3.7L engine. This change is almost certainly because the engine has probably been downsized, but in that case they could switch to horsepower instead. The Nissan 400Z is an easy to identify name. And the Nismo could be the 420Z Nismo, or the 419Z or the 421Z, etc if marketing didnt like the number.

$66k US is very high for this kind of vehicle, which I would classify similarly to a Ford Mustang (the normal one) or Genesis Coupe (not sold anymore). I would expect the Nissan Z (non-Nismo) to be priced around $30k - $32k, which is similar to the normal Mustang. But actually the Nissan Z Sport starts at $42k, that’s still too high.

If I had any other complaint, the car looks a bit wide for my tastes. Now, I am also not the target market for this vehicle, so that doesn’t really matter.

Other than the wide comment I agree with everything here. And to charge that price for a car that shares so much with a 370Z is just nuts to me.

And the worst part which they don’t mention here is the went to electronic steering, the steering on the 370Z was still hydraulic and it felt fantastic.
