The wording sounds like he’s a black man from America, aka an African American, who’s now living in Australia. I have no idea though. There is a way it’s not the wrong wording, but it also totally could be.
Ugh, that sucks.
I saw an interview with her yesterday where she said she gave it her best after a lot of work and was pretty upset about all the hate.
I guess I need to do some more research!

That’s how I read it too. He is an American of African descent, living in Australia for ten years.
