Fair enough. We all have our preferences. :)
Oh yay. :)
ProtonVPN also has port-forwarding.
That being said, last time I tried it, their Linux GUI was abysmal, though I hear they recently did a revamp. I haven’t used it yet though so I can’t speak on it beyond that.
Just something to keep mind.
Edit: Syntax.
Sorry to make you sad. :(
That hasn’t been updated in two years. Seems kinda dead if you ask me.
Which is a shame because I used to use that and it was great!
As long as it’s not yet another “minimalist” launcher, i.e. ones that’re basically each just a glorified apps list.
I’d personally love more launchers that use a tiling system, with built-in clock and/or weather widget.
Kind of like Focus Launcher with the Arcticons icon theme but, you know, with less moon and more grid.
My reasons for pirating varies by the context, however. Sometimes, I’m pirating something for morals & freedom, while other times it is because I would rather pay money for it but the only option is a DRMed one (and yes Steam is a form of DRM if it requires Steam to play), whilst other times I just pirate it because I don’t wanna pay for it.
So, yes, depending on the context, someone can be a pirate for reasons other than “pirate”.
Bottom-line is that while I agree with you that people shouldn’t kid themselves if they’re just being a pirate for pirating’s sake, I think you also shouldn’t ridicule others who are pirating for less-selfish motivations, at least during instances when that is their sole, or at least primary, motivation.
Tl;dr – Shit’s complex yo.
I just want you to know how much I appreciate the fact that you typed out the list of repos mentioned in the video, since you know many people are not going to watch the video but still want the information.
I mean this. Thank you. You are awesome and deserve cake.
I know this is an old comment I’m replying to, but what about AirVPN? They don’t seem untrustworthy and/or a honeypot.
Are they? :/
Damn. After all these years? He just can’t get a break.
Rip.
Exactly, which is why I
Use a VPN server specifically configured for P2P,
Use port forwarding on said server,
Only have three torrents active at a time so as not to divide my bandwidth too much, and
Typically seed for weeks at a time so as to give the ratio time to build at such low speeds. (I typically try to seed up to 10.0x, but you know, with old seeds, that’s not always possible to do even with weeks of seeding. :) )
Seeding in this way may not be very effective, but it makes it at least feasible.
and very unlikely to ever take up your bandwith
Are you sure about that? Not all of us have fiber, you know. For instance, I have like 175 Mbps down, but only like either 2 or 10 Mbps up. (I can’t remember which. Lol.)
Could you explain to me how indeed a desktop reader app for Wikipedia might work better than just, say, opening up Wikipedia in a tab?
Keep in mind that I’m not saying there’s no point to it, since the fact that it exists means there is clearly a use case. I’m just wondering what that use case is.
Does makemkv work well in wine?
Is… Is there some reason not to send that much money via PayPal?
Asking for a friend.
May the gigabits be plentiful and lag-free this year! Amen!
