951·1 month agoYes and no. You gotta listen to the whole thing all the way through at least once. Some albums require repeat listening. Some, you just take the good, toss the bad.

46·2 months agowelding aluminum requires TIG. It’s harder and more specialized.
welding mild steel body panels are simple with equipment any body shop will have.
I am well aware of the regional differences in Mexican food (why I used Jalisco as an example).
shit, California was a part of mexico for a a few decades and we definitely have some local variants (CA Burrito is so good)
its about expectations. I grew up in California and have some specific expectations about Mexican food. they are different than if I was raised in Jalisco. I went to a “Mexican” restaurant in Budapest and their interpretation of Mexican food is VERRY different.

3DPrinting@lemmy.world•Biggest print so far. About 42 hours and 2.6kg of filament. No, I don't have room for a table saw, how did you know?English
1·3 months agoor angle iron/aluminum.
I am really impressed by the quality of print of this, I have tried 3d printing a bunch and am constantly impressed by what folks (not me) can get out of these machines.
At the same time I am confounded by what people choose to print. This geometry is waaaay simpler quicker cheaper to achieve without 3d printing.
also I can’t get this output, so…

6·3 months agoA table saw is not really needed for this sort of thing. A router with straight edge guides would work for dados for the shelves. Technically you could CTL with the router too, if you didn’t have a circular saw.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•It took shockingly few generations for our ruling class to become morons
5·3 months agoExactly. They want to be perceived as smarter (basically look down on the unwashed masses.) They don’t want to do the work to be more educated. Hence the hurdles they can put in front of the poors while they get to pay for fastpass to skip the line directly into the ivy leagues.

Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•It took shockingly few generations for our ruling class to become moronsEnglish
34·3 months agoThey were NEVER smarter. At most at one time they had more leisure time and access to books and tutors when reading and books were rare. That made them more educated, and they want to go back to that desperately.
