Ghost Recon Wildlands?
Ghost Recon Wildlands?
It certainly seems that the patent office had discovered how lucrative kick backs can be.
Like the other guy said it’s a patient. I don’t know why these days it seems like the patent office is allowing patents for vague concepts, But it needs to stop. The entirety of the video game industry is built on itineration of ideas and concepts that came before. How much longer before they try to patent jumping?
You can thank good ole Walt Disney and his lawyers for first pissing all over the public domain laws and then throwing as much of his weight as he could behind increasing the penalties for copyright infringements.
Honestly sounds like an interesting concept. From I was.gling in blind at least your idea sounds interesting enough to warrant giving a demo a try.
My only word of caution is that you said you wanted to make a dark comedy about ethics and that’s going to be a tough sell at the best of times. That isn’t to say that there is no audience for something with gallows/macabre/dark satire humor, just that that group is small from the jump.
One of the more interesting takes I’ve seen on the trolley problem is the “double and pass” wrinkle. Where it starts with you and the person you value the most on the track on one side and a random stranger on the other. And your choice is to either sacrifice your loved one or spare both passing the decision on to the next person where it’s doubled. As in their loved one versus two strangers.
Because Nintendo jealously guards even the ideas that their IPs create. You just saw them go to the courts to make their patents be a little more vague just so they could try to take down Palworld. And they know that as long as they can corner the market on those specific experiences you’ll have to come back to them in order to get it. It’s very much like a drug dealer getting rid of other drug dealers that might come into their neighborhood so that the only drug is their drug and the only place to get it is through them.
Title needs to be updated. They were bemoaning the Series S not the Series X.
I feel that Sci-Fi and Fantasy are different. Especially enough to be seen as two different genres.
See, I feel like both Sci-Fi and Fantasy have enough different that the should be sperate genres. I think the combining them is to the detriment of both. I can’t tell you the amount of times I’ve given up looking for something new to watch because I click Sci-Fi and every listing is Lord of the Rings.
I guess I’m the odd one out then. I’m a huge Sci-Fi fan. Ender’s Game still stands as my favorite book after all these years. But I’m not too crazy about fantasy. I’ve bounced off of books, shows, and movies that my friends and family loved. They just seemed to be mediocre stories with fantasy paint on it and people who like Wizards were able to gloss over the holes.
It’s not unheard of for people to not be interested in the other genre. But those people are outnumbered by consumers who just want the new thing.
And you may notice, I didn’t say that it was. I said I found it hard to feel empathy for PC players as they stand on a literal mountain of PC only games.
I find it extremely hard to empathize with PC players from the mountains of PC only games that have never come to consoles.
Honest to God, this is a PR slam dunk if they do that. They get to write if the pay out as a donation to charity for tax purposes, get the lime light of them doing something generous for a cancer patient, and can show that they take the few breeches of their malware.qall seriously. Hell they could probably double the pay out and they wouldn’t even notice the loss.
