Humans are just an assortment of atoms. The specific assortment doesn’t change that.

Humans are just atoms, art is just combinations of materials, phones are just various metals & plastics, and a video game is just if statements.

My claude ignores half the stuff I define in it’s claud.md once it goes over ~200 lines, and I need it to know more important things like “don’t try to locally verify with chromium” so it doesn’t spend 20 minutes + $10 in tokens rediscovering I have removed it’s permissions to accomplish that.

Say you’re alive
I am alive
omg
Versions of that meme will always amuse me

Calling the modern state of products like Claude Code & kin “just an LLM” is like calling a modern car “Just some refined metal & plastic”. Or more to the point, why not call AI “just some math”?
Yes the building block is an LLM. The layers of orchestration on top of that fundamental building block converts it into something else. Don’t call it AI if you don’t want to, but “just an LLM” is inaccurate at this point.

Mine is basically just a list of products I have bought.
Likes backpacking
Yeah well I bought a full kit off Amazon so that tracks…

You can generally fool them by just changing one or two variables like GPU acceleration.
Or, change browsers.

Everyone coincidentally has the same opinion as the mods. It’s very weird how that happens on every subreddit.

I’m honestly just not very informed on the israel/palestein conflict. But isn’t the whole “river to the sea” thing about expanding Israel by displacing palesteins?
Is your position just that displacement is not the same as genocide?

Did it happen to be r/Comics?

I’m just not buying across millions of users, there exists a combination of ethical pattern matching (e.g. subs, comment patterns, online timing, etc). to reliably identify a single human behind multiple accounts. We’re not that unique.
It’s 100% IP and cookie based. Each of which can be circumvented without too much issue.

Personally I would assume bad design over compute vampirism. But I could be wrong.

The fact that Reddit allowed for the ‘ban users if they comment in another sub’ thing to exist is another sign that owners have lost their fucking minds.
It’s literally just a mechanism for the mega-subs to suppress smaller subs from growing. Why on earth would Reddit go out of their way to introduce monopolies.

It’s always bothered me how incel’s are discussed when really, the group they are referencing are often sexually active but just deeply misogynistic. Meanwhile many people who are closer to the ‘forever alone’ crowd deserve genuine sympathy. Being lonely sucks, and being unable to ‘obtain’ a partner is lonely.
Beyond that - some people will just throw out ‘incel’ as a catch all for “took issue with any pro-woman or pro-lgbt statement”.

I have a similar story. I was banned, then “unbanned” (as in I got a notification apologizing + stating I was unbanned) but then they never actually lifted the ban

Yeah same idea. Another good one along the same lines is
“We didn’t do this because it’s easy. We did it because we thought it would be easy”
And they all think they are extremely original and creative.
Like a bunch of yellow snow flakes.

It’s a 20/80 rule thing.
Coming up with a proof is the first 20% of work. Actually checking and validating the proof is the next 80% of work.
Yes I agree. To reach my current comp in basically any field, it would be a 10 year grind.
I’m better off just sitting in tech and letting inflation eat away my TC over the next 20 years until it pays similar to other low-end eng work. But in the mean time I’ll make above-average while working 30 hours/week. Woe is me.
The fundamentals get worse and worse the closer you look.
Like for example, so much of their opex is filed under capex. Graphic cards & related assets degrade over time but are often listed as one time purchases, compute time is often evaluated as one time expenses but the models need to be retrained to improve over time, etc.
