No one other than meta seems interested in making an affordable midrange headset. I get that they want to push the tech but it’s out of the budget for so many gamers that might otherwise be interested in vr.
I’m sure the frame is going to be amazing but I would be happier if I could get something for $500-700, even if it was equivalent to the the decade old HTC vive or similar headset.

If I ate something new or interesting, my friends actually cared. Unfortunately Facebook decided no one wants to interact with the people they know and started pushing news posts down everyone’s throat. It’s not a social network if you actively work against me interacting with my social network.
You see, investors sincerely believe that AI has value and more AI has more value. How do you create more AI? More data centers!
So now you have several hundred multimillionaires and billionaires, with almost zero understanding of what AI is, what it’s useful for and what it’s not useful for, but they believe with all their heart , more data centers makes wealth go up.
Now they are buying up land, with money they borrowed, to build data centers, with hardware that hasn’t been manufactured yet all to potentially realize financial gains that are backed by nothing but speculation and emotion.
The sane answer we need. So many comments are trying to explain it using the unit cost without accounting for differences in the systems configurations.

I tried to set a reminder yesterday and is proceeded to search Google for “set a reminder for 9pm”. AI is making my phone less useful and it’s infuriating. Even worse, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. I guess it depends on geminis mood?
Yeah, the lead up to it was a lot of fun with things like 28 days later, walking dead comic and the zombie survival guide. Then the genre exploded. At least we got the two left 4 dead games out of it.
Greenland was also terribly fun. Haven’t checked out the sequel and don’t know that I will but if someone puts on the first one I’ll know what I’m doing for the next two hours.
Plex is kind of a weird hybrid where it is self hosted but a part of the backend infrastructure is not. For my use this is advantageous because it simplifies the service for my less technically inclined family members that would struggle with using something like jellyfin.
I look at it as a comfortable middle ground to get people off Netflix and other services for now but I don’t have much faith that it will last forever with what plex is doing as a company recently.
So because it is selling well and had the best launch ever for a console, the over inflated software and hardware prices, sparse software lineup and dropping support for the switch 1 are no longer valid points? Everyone keeps supporting the one point I didn’t (and won’t) criticize while refusing to discuss the very honest points I do bring up. It’s the same post launch issues they’ve have every generation since the n64 and the best anyone can say is “it sold well”. Yes, it sold well, what about everything else about the system?

I didn’t say its selling poorly but I feel the points I made are pretty valid. In terms of units sold, it’s done very well but it’s not selling as well as predicted and they have cut production for this quarter by a 30%.
I don’t doubt that the switch 2 is going to be a great platform. I’ve owned everything they’ve released and loved all of them except for the virtual boy. I’ll even defend the greatness of the Wii U.
The switch 2 might be the first one I skip, they’ve priced me out of owning it at this point. MSRP on tears of the kingdom is $115 Canadian which is insane. I would be unlikely to buy two games for that much, never mind a single game.
It’s insane that the pc is easily the most affordable gaming platform at this point but I’m not going to pay $130 after tax for a game when I can get equally good games for $40.
Watching Nintendo fumble console launches (sometimes whole generations) is one of the few constants in my life for the last 30 years. Dropping first party support for previous gens within 12 months, nothing compelling on the next gen for 18-24 months and now, egregious pricing for hardware and software. You’d think they’d learn what not to do, especially after doing it a half dozen times.
It’s all clickbait, people see a headline like that and read the article because it sounds like someone is making magic metal.
People with power believe everything happens because they allow it and if they don’t like it then they can just make it stop.
Some of those podcasts are hosted without the creators consent and even if they are asked to take them down, they put them back up after a while.
