.world seems to have been the default instance people went to when they left reddit. It’s more or less than mentality imported into Lemmy. This led to the fact that creating a US specific instance is not necessary. .world fills that niche enough.
.world is more or less an American instance in all but name.

I enjoyed Origins as well. To me Odyssey was a more refined version of Origins. Better exploration, combat, etc. Odyssey focused more on exploration which is maybe why you felt it was more empty? I enjoyed it personally but it’s definitely a preference thing.
Which is not a really good criticism in my opnion. It still had a lot of the core elements of AC, they just tried some new things. And a lot of it worked out.

Poor people more often have the kind of reaction of “Oh, that must have cost a lot.” whereas richer people will simply say “Yeah that’s good for you, it’s important to get the good stuff”.
A big thing is thinking about finances constantly and asking those kinds of questions in social settings. It’s more of a common thing to do when you’re in a poorer environment.
