No, it’s just a big community by itself already. So while some big instances have it blocked, they have enough users to just have activity from their own instance.
This has already kind of happened aswell. Apple competing making google improve their service. Google never had street view in Germany, because when they first tried it there were many protests. Only when they noticed apple had gotten full street view coverage of Germany, did google realise there wasn’t much opposition anymore, and they went and covered Germany.
If you look at the actual stats it isn’t really closed nuclear plants being replaced by coal, they got replaced by other renewables, while coal still kept going at about the same rate as while the nuclear plants were active.
I mean if you trace it back far enough, the engines used are in fact forks of the quake engine (IdTech 2). I’m sure there’s some simple system somewhere that’s still the same in all engines all these years later
It’s kind of awesome to think every call of duty game, valve game and Id software game still all use an engine that originated from quake!
