821·23 days agoHe’s not saying he’s good because he’s a good father and husband, he’s citing those as evidence for him being a good conservative Christian, which is the only thing that matters to them. If you identify as exactly that you can do anything and still be a good person.
The rich have co-opted Christianity and the insane devotion its internal logic creates to build their perfect foot soldiers

No problem! Accidentally putting myself through withdrawal was enough to make me never want anyone else to make that mistake!
Anyone that takes adderall looking here should know, high doses of vitamin c can inhibit the effects of your meds if consumed soon after taking them(like 90 minutes) so don’t drink orange juice or take a multivitamin in the morning. Shit fucking sucked to learn the hard way

3·1 month agoThey essentially want a low-effort low-cost perpetual money-printing machine
Problem is that they can’t micromanage that into existence, ConcernedApe more or less created a money printing machine with Stardew Valley all by himself, at least at first. It would be so much cheaper for studios to find like 15 inspired independent devs/designers that need money to make their dream a reality, give them just a lil equity and room/time to cook and they might actually get something amazing. But ain’t no way execs and shareholders would let that happen, they’d yank the plug after year one of a three year contract.

21·2 months agoLiterally the only thing I ever used AI for that was actually enjoyable and “efficient” was to make bullshit images to send in group chats, I’ve since stopped because it’s so wasteful, but I did get some laughs there. But like if I weren’t shit at animating or drawing or whatever I wouldn’t ever use that over making something myself unless it was for some dumb bullshit.
AI is just a dumb bullshit producer

Technology@lemmy.world•Are you ready for a $1,000 Steam Machine? Some analysts think you should be.English
4·3 months agoHalf the posts I see on lemmy about this are incredibly out of touch with mainstream gamers and consumers and I’m getting second hand embarrassment from it.
Most people do not want to tinker with their shit at all, and the proportion of people that care about display port vs hdmi is probably about the same they want exactly what you said, ease of a console with the nimble power of a PC. This is exactly that
Kinda surprised by all the trouble folks have had with Xbox controllers, my experience has been smooth as on any console

Games@lemmy.world•Steam Hardware [new Steam Controller, Steam Machine, and VR headset Steam Frame, coming in 2026]English
2·3 months agoFolks that would/could do that are not the folks this seems geared towards IMO, and I think it may whoosh a lot of us on Lemmy because in general we like to tinker and figure tech out, that’s obviously not ubiquitous, but the vast majority of people(read consumers) do not want that at all. I also suspect the Steam Machine will be priced right around $500 to compete with the PS5, depending on their sales expectations they could legit make this a loss leader.
More likely geared towards the average PC gamer that just wants to play games and doesn’t give a fuck about OSS or Linux in addition to lifelong console gamers that prefer controllers on couch gaming but are interested in all the other perks/freedoms that PCs offer. I was in the latter group about a year ago when I bought my deck.

A large number of the problems we currently face and will in the future come down to boomers being worse than their predecessors at grasping, understanding, and accepting their own impermanence and unimportance on the grand stage of reality.
Most of them need to have a series of existential crises or maybe read some fucking Satre so they can stop with the Me generation bullshit. It’s wild that the first generation to do LSD in mass is somehow the one that needs to experience ego death the most
