That model only works if people actually adopt the technology

Are you dense? That’s not the question.

Depends. Are they still making negative money with it? If so, then I’m gonna say no.
It’s kind of like robbing a bank, killing everyone inside, then running out without taking anything, dropping your wallet in the process

Nah, it won’t be an apocalypse. Just more of the dystopia we’re all completely accustomed to. You’ll get ads based on the content of your blood. Police will show up at your door minutes after you ingest any illegal drug. And you know that thing where LinkedIn and dating apps are like “we may or may not have found you a match, pay us to find out!” You’ll get notifications like that about cancer.

I’m gonna venture a guess and say no

I think this obviously implies that your brain is getting reset each loop, in which case you wouldn’t be aware of anything repeating.

That is correct

Nuclear weapons. I’m in charge now and I’m here to right the ship.

Nono it’s Kafka

The book is called “The complete stories” and it’s all his fiction other than his novels. My buddy lent it to me, I’ll probably pick up my own copy when he wants it back if that says anything. The Burrow was a story from the perspective of what seems to be a mole, his meticulous process of planning and constructing his burrow, and his endless anxieties related to defending it. I loved it.

Most recent image I took. Was reading The Burrow by Kafka and realized my train stop was coming up and I didn’t have my bookmark.

Honestly I have no idea, it was about a decade ago or more. I thought everyone went under for it until my most recent girlfriend told me that she got hers out with local anaesthetic.
When I woke up from having my wisdom teeth out, I had crazy and terrifying hallucinations all the way home. While we were parked waiting for something, I saw someone run up, press their face against my window, and scream my name while slamming their fists on the window. I closed my eyes and curled up into a ball, and I was instantly in some sort of cave system underground that was rapidly collapsing and burying me alive. I don’t remember much else but my mom said I was freaking out the whole way home.
I’m terrified of anesthesia now and I have yet to find any explanation for what happened to me.

Handy at times but worse value overall compared to a regular UPS

I have yet to be emotionally moved by a single piece of AI generated content, and not for lack of exposure. I am moved by human art on a daily basis.

I really don’t feel that it’s devaluing art. Slop has always been slop whether AI or human generated. Real art takes an artist’s soul put into it and I don’t see AI replicating that. If anything it just highlights the importance of passion in art.

If this induced rage in you, seek therapy my man. Also, if you’d ever spent any significant time around other people you’d know how often these simple etiquette rules are broken.
What do you mean do something, can’t you see we’re posting about it? Jokes aside, choosing to not have kids is doing something about it.
dating sucks cause people suck. collectively we hold ourselves to remarkably low standards.
You know, I remember not too long ago when people on Lemmy tried to interpret each other charitably. Then everyone from Reddit came over, polluting the culture, and now practically every exchange on here feels like it’s in bad faith.
