The big plus for pick up trucks are essentially no vertical constraint and that there is a space outside the cab for smelly things (ie. Manure, trash). The people who put hard bed covers on should just get an SUV.

There is also nothing wrong with having a cab bigger than the bed so long as the extra seats aren’t wasted space (ie. Silverado mid gate).

What is absurd ( and I have been thinking about a pickup for several years because my station wagon isn’t as handy due to the hard vertical constraints) is how big they have gotten.
