  • I see what they’re doing. You know how in the real world the billionaires make the rules and can flex their power? So can bigger youtube stars. This can lead to youtube losing out a bit in negotiations just like the government will sometimes fuck its people over because some rich twat gets a bug up their ass and tosses some cash around. But what if those bigger youtube stars had less share of the market? Hype likely won’t cost youtube itself viewers, but it could shift viewers around redistributing them to less known channels. Now the bigger stars are a little less big and bring a little less to the negotiating table.

  • I remember being on a big call. The VP of manufacturing asked if anyone thought there were any issues or obstacles with the plan going forward. I had major reservations but kept silent because fuck all that noise. I’m not gonna be the one to speak up on a call like that. Amazingly, a breath of fresh air spoke up and said as much. That no one would speak up in a meeting like that with all those people on the line. So the VP revised his open question and said if we wanted to email him our concerns we could do that. I did just that. Still not a damn thing happened and they still went forward with their shitty decisions and I left not too long after. But for a brief shining moment, I spoke up. I was ignored. But I spoke up.

  • With reddit having way more people and being only a casual browser, I would never make it early enough to a post to contribute in a meaningful way. Whatever I would have said would be commented dozens of times before I got to the thread. At best my comment wasn’t made yet, but I’d be sure someone with more knowledge on the subject would’ve contributed in greater depth soon.

Here I see plenty of posts hours old with no comments. There’s a greater chance whatever I might say won’t get buried or overshadowed.
