FIFA and its followers are a plague on humanity.

Unless China is crazy enough to record their people in the bathroom, which I wouldn’t put past them.

nuggie_ss@lemmings.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How do people in cities have fun without spending money at every turn?21·6 days agoIt’s not free, but owning property is huge.
Most of the city people will never own property in the cities they dwell in.
If all you do in a major city is sit in your house and play on your computer, you could do that elsewhere without having to pays tens of thousands of dollars on rent.
nuggie_ss@lemmings.worldto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How do people in cities have fun without spending money at every turn?22·6 days agoThey don’t.
That’s why they think cities are the only places in the world worth living. If there’s not an endless sea of shit to waste their money on, they’re lost.

nuggie_ss@lemmings.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•Amazon is making it impossible to remove the DRM from Kindle BooksEnglish4·6 days agoWhy are people doing X stupid thing that makes rich people richer at their own expense?
It’s the herding and conditioning. The sheeple have not woken up.
So many things make so much more sense when we realize this.

Their website makes it so easy to look up books for Anna’s Archive.

I know most people get ripped off regularly, though.

The problem is twitch and influencer-culture, not necessarily young users.
I’d wager a benefit of having young people on the internet is that they at least have the potential to provide value because their brain hasn’t been rotted to the core like most adults.
nuggie_ss@lemmings.worldto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•GitHub a possible inclusion in Australian under 16 "social media" banEnglish23·8 days agoIt’s shocking how quickly the free world is backsliding into fascism.
I genuinely think this has to do with the next generation of idiots taking their place. My generation has been conditioned to roll over like punk-bitches in the face of conflict so they’re easier to exploit.
It’s literally seen as embarrassing to stand up for yourself.
nuggie_ss@lemmings.worldto Selfhosted@lemmy.world•GitHub a possible inclusion in Australian under 16 "social media" banEnglish12·8 days agoA rating system like the ESRB would actually be a really good idea for helping parents control what their kids get to see.
It shouldn’t result in any sort of ban or restriction beyond what the parents are able to enforce. The big-name services will have a rating, and it’s up to parents whether or not they’ll let their kids use unrated services.
