Staying a few nights in Big Bend National park was amazing. I’ve never felt so close to the Milky Way.

I use mikrotik for routing but ubiquiti for wifi and switching. Such a wonderful system. Set and forget.
Another ducky fan!
I just got a ducky 3 and changed out to gateron smoothies.
So happy for the hot swap feature
I don’t consider casify anymore due to the lawsuit with dbrand
As long as you follow the 3-2-1 rule, you don’t need to worry about putting your eggs in one basket.
Nah I don’t believe you at all.
SAMSUNG 870 QVO SATA 8TB = $683.38 x 4 = $2,733.52
8TB x 4 = 32TB
$2,733.52 / 32TB = $85.4225/TB
Yeah one of these disks does not cost more than $25/TB.
26TB x $25 = $650

I usually just buy my phone directly from a big box store never from a carrier
I built my own. Proxmox with OMV on top. I use ZFS1 for the nas and ZFS2 for the back up
For sure. I highly doubt people asked, will my DNA be safe if I send it to a for profit company?
Setting up my own NAS and offside backup.

Imagine an open source autofocus algorithm that people can use their own photos locally so that it can focus on your shooting style.
Every year? The only person I know within my immediate vicinity has phones ranging from 2019 2022.

A modern day necessity vs a relatively niche item.
My passphrase includes several spaces. It’s another character to assist in entropy.
Not if you have a proper backup plan.
I have about 200ish TB or about 24 drives and 3 of them failed all are used. I have a solid backup plan so no issues with failing drives. Saves me roughly 100-200 a drive.
New drives have infant mortality as well. An inverse bell curve would be the distribution.
