I really like Bill Hicks, but because he was so on point about stuff then (~35 years ago!) I have found it hard to watch his stuff for the last decade. So great, but too real. I hate that I struggle to find it funny now like I did then.
But great share! Totally relevant.

I’ve spent much of my adult life being transient, going to where I find work. It’s given me the ability to see interesting places, but rarely to know them deeply. There have been places I wanted to stay. Good community, good support networks. I loved the place, but struggled to find work. I left. It isn’t always great but I was used to moving.
I can’t imagine what it is like for immigrants traveling longer distances than me. Just for work and a better life. I believe they are leaving good communities and support networks not just for work, but for bigger reasons than I can really understand. How awful to get to a place and find it to be hateful towards them but have no immediate option to leave. It shouldn’t be that way.
