Seriously that’s really disappointing. It really seems like investors decides that they needed to “diversify” their offering and they need something with AI now … Framework was on a good path imo but of course a repairable laptop only goes so far since people can repair it and don’t need to replace it every 2 years (or maybe just replace the motherboard) so if you want to grow you need to make more products …
He’s definitely similar and I’ve seen a couple of vids of his. But he didn’t quite “catch” me the same way.
So … Do you have any recommendations for more like technology connections? I’ve watched through every video+even the ones in the backlog). A year or so ago I stumbled on cathode ray dude (similar nerd vibes) and I’ve also seen everything from him so if anyone has a recommendation on similar channels please let me know.
Well … My go-to is still Hbomberguy. Eben if I don’t know/care about the topic I know every vid of bis will be interesting and worth the time investment. The jokes are really funny (even on rewatches) and I’ve learned a lot. I watch old Hbomb videos to Fall asleep to almost every night.
Main issue: there’s one video every 1-2 years … However if you’ve never seen one you’ll have the back log to get through.
Yeah I saw that. It’s definitely intriguing. For now I’m good with the free tailscale but might look into it. What’s your experience with headscale? It’s mostly a broker right so probably not to Ressource excessive? I have a small public VPS for getting to my selfhosted infrastructure so I might just add in headscale there
I kinda shied away from tailscale because “I wanted to do it on my own” but I’ve just set up tailscale (while on a train no less) and it was really simple … Guess I’ll run with it for now :D now I’ll just have to set up the send/receive scripts but that’s just some BASHing my head against a wall ;)
Thanks for the suggestion!
I love Calibre. I’ve recently broken my E-Reader (Tolino) but all my books are backed up on Calibre so the only loss is the hardware (still sad but not as annoying)
Still haven’t properly set up my backups … Have my Nextcloud on a zfs (single disk sadly) and want to send it to a server at my parents place (also zfs) but both are behind NAT. While I’ve successfully set up wireguard between the two, but the connection won’t stay up so there’s still a ways to go till I got a happy off-site Backup.
Not sure how technitium works but just from my selfhosting experience are you sure your not hitting dns-rebinding protection somwhere.
In short DNS rebinding stops domains from being resolved to private IP ranges so you don’t end up back in your Network when you seem to be resolving a public domain.
I have to set up any domains that resolve locally in my router (which also does DNS and DHCP) but not sure if that’s necessary with technitium
I remember first hearing about 1TB and thinking (who needs that much storage?) wasn’t an IT person then just a regular nerd but am now and it took me a while to ever fill up my first 1TB HDD (steam folder) now I have a 2TB NVME in my desktop and a 4TB NVME in my server (for my Linux ISOs ;))
Just having a network of care, looking out for each other and replacing functions a fascist state doesn’t offer any more (think childcare/healthcare/food for those in need) can be a huge act of resistance. Organizing political protests as long as it’s still possible (even if it’s illegal). Strike, sabotage, physical violence … Eventually you will have the choice of imprisonment/death, assimilation or exile to me the last act of resistance will be never to choose assimilation. Continuing to live in exile can be as much of a martyrdom as dying for the cause.
Build a network of friends/neighbors etc. conceive plans to protect the ones who will be targeted first (POC, LGBTQI, …) eventually either go underground or leave the country.
Isn’t jumping forward and then changing stuff in your timeline just traveling to the past with extra steps? If doing something in the past changes the now changing something in the now based in future outcome would also change that outcome.
Afaik that’s the common read on 3-2-1 though im wondering these days if the “separate mediums” still is that relevant to me it means storing data on different types of disks however in the end all is zfs for me so not really a different medium (since same file system)? Anyway I still have to set up my off-site backups anyway to adhere to 3-2-1 :D
The problem is that USB-C is a plug not a standard even in charging some cables won’t do as much power as others (though at least they communicate that to the power source).
I do however fully support the total USB-C rollout. In my everyday carry there’s now only one plug (2 USB-C one USB-A) and some cables that I can charge everything with, my laptop, my phone my Powerbank and even those few devices that are still USB-B micro (I just carry one USB-A to micro cable).
Hey. Some questions and prompts for output so we can diagnose better.

I don’t wanna be the party pooper here, but Die Hard is a specifically American Christmas Movie. I’m not saying that other people can’t or shouldn’t enjoy it as a Christmas Movie if so inclined.
But as a German what we “traditionally” watch as Christmas Movies/Shows is something completely different (though also varying greatly from region to region and family to family. I for one still enjoy “Weihnachten bei den Hoppenstedts” a lot my father mostly insists on seeing “Familie Heinz Becker feiert Weihnachten”. A movie a lot of people consider to be a Christmas Movie as far as I can tell is “Drei Haselnüsse für Aschenbrödel”.
Again I’m not saying that people can’t consider “American” Christmas Movies as their own or make them their traditions a friend of mine insists that “In Bruges” is the ultimate Christmas Movie. I just think saying “We all agree” is making it to simple
Edit: Read some more comments and maybe I misunderstood the premise. I’m not saying “Die Hard is not a Christmas Movie” what I’m trying to say is “Christmas Movies are what people make their Christmas Movie regardless of if they are Christmas-y” if I started watching Shrek at every Christmas it would be my Christmas Movie. But I feel what OP wanted to say was “There are Movies that are considered Christmas Movies because of the content and Die Hard should be considered one of them”.
Ah damn. Yeah haven’t used gpodder in a while didn’t know it couldn’t sync with gpodder nextcloud. … Sorry.
For me (southern Germany) Pfannkuchen (literal translation is Pancake) is what OP showed. Thin rollable dough-circle. American Pancakes are just called Pancakes (in english)
Also Berliner are called Berliner not “Krapfen” and definitely not Pfannkuchen (as some weirdos would imply)
