Yeah, I used Infinity for reddit but then they had to start charging for use because of the API pricing so I moved to Eternity which is a fork of Infinity for lemmy. Problem is, Eternity doesn’t seem to be maintained anymore so when it stops working with some lemmy update I guess I’ll just have to go back to entertaining myself with simon tatham’s portable puzzle collection or something

Whether I was going to be Swiss or American was a decision made before I was born that if I had any say in would probably have gone the other way

what? no one reasonable is saying all russians are bad or all americans are bad. being born in a country does not automatically make you a fan of what their military does, that’s just racist

Never been in one but they definitely seem nice. driving any 90s/2000s sedan would definitely make me like a date better, especially given how many people I know drive horrible modern SUVs

I feel like the people who just want safer android are going to be confused by them being called “alternatives” and the people who want an alternative know that they aren’t really alternatives.

modern windows tries to trick you into not doing that. if you hold for a little bit it turns the screen off so you think it’s turned off when it really hasn’t, then if you hold a little longer it turns the screen back on and tells you to please stop holding the power button, then finally a little after that the computer actually turns off. why the hardware even makes that possible is beyond me

It’s so much better than I expected. Obviously not as much content as vintage story or minecraft but it’s brand new so that’s expected.

I use both matrix and discord regularly and matrix is nowhere near a viable alternative for discord, the way they work is just too different. The only real alternative I’ve been able to find is guilded but it’s no better than discord since it’s still completely centralized and closed source
