As stupid as this sounds, eventually someone is going to suggest letting grocery stores be open on Sunday and this will usher in what German historians call “Der Modern Age”. There will be a domino effect… Rathaus will get Internet, Doctors will forgo fax for email and Aldi will finally bring Trader Joe’s to the motherland. We will slowly creep into the 21st century. One pointless rule at a time.

This stupid speed limit thing will be remembered as the catalyst of progress in the race to catch up to their neighbors.

Goddammit. I use my InstantPot every fkn week. I guess once this one croaks, I’ll try the Ninja version. Friend of mine says it’s great. I’ll do my homework and make sure they don’t openly support slavery or eugenics.

Am sort doing this with 8gb pi5, using CasaOS, which has JF, arr stack stuff, Navidrome, etc. It’s a wholly capable setup and I’m quite pleased. Not doing a lot of onboard transcoding, and had to grow a quick neckbeard in order to get the apps to see the usb external drive array, but once I got that all smoothed out it’s been surprisingly up to task.

Nice to see them adopt the open source apps, though. They can probably get some screaming deals on some US Robotics 56k modems on eBay Local.

This guy is absolutely desperate for a friend who might be able to help him politically. Anyone to get him on tv. He’s like a scab that prople keep picking. Loathesome human.

I’ve filed for 7 years straight and never owed a cent. Oddly, got a little back, 2 years straight. Might have been the covid money, which even more laughable as I didn’t set foot, much less work, in the US for the entirety of the pandemic. Single, no property or other taxable assets and no additional sources of income outside my monthly paycheck from my Euro employers. If I, me broke that $126k threshold, then I’d have to pay something. Getting there. Let’s see if the USA doesn’t collapse on itself first*

You won’t have to pay anything unless you’re pulling in the equivalent of >$126,500 USD in foreign income. Then you’re taxed on what you make above that. My H&R Block lady here in Germany told me all about it when I file every year. And boy howdy is fuuuuucking stupid that I’m having to file US taxes every year. I could stop, but then everything falls apart for me.

Never been to Japan, but I came from San Diego, which has, apparently, one of the best zoos in the world. And while they do take good care of the animals (I guess…) it’s a drag to see a fkn polar bear in San Diego.

Zoos suck. Put those animals back where they belong. Or eat them.

Glad it wasn’t a slide deck. Had every opportunity to be.
