I feel like bears is the most obvious answer. In this scenario it would have started thousands of years ago. We’d have dozens/hundreds of breeds with different shapes,sizes and characteristics. What do you think would be the most interesting/cool?

Holy shit that would be terrifying. That’s basically a fucking velociraptor but smaller.
Kinda funny actually, because cassowaries are about the same length as a velociraptor, but the average cassowary would be four times the weight. TIL

I also just found out that ostrich kill more people annually, so maybe I should have asked for a guard ostrich instead?
I might suggest the higher death rate from ostriches comes from where they live. More humans near ostriches than humans near cassowaries.
I guess they’re pretty skittish as well. More prone to flight (heh) then fight
