I’d like to see all Windows users (on x86-64) who don’t absolutely need Windows try Linux.

Linux is what I’d be running if I had an Intel Mac. Linux support of Apple silicon is sketchy at best, though I’ve heard progress is being made. I don’t see a good reason to dump macOS for Linux, but with Windows, it is absolutely a good drop-in replacement you can also run alongside Windows while you decide.

I kinda want to get a gently used x86-64 desktop workstation to turn into a small server. 100% it will run Linux. I won’t run Windows in my home.

Look for a small form factor business PC like a Thinkcentre. They are small, quiet and don’t use a lot of power. They are great for home servers as long as you don’t need a bunch of hard drives. You can still find used ones at decent prices.

Yes, SFF is what I’ve been looking at. Been mainly looking at Dell, but HP, IBM, Lenovo, I’m sure they’re all fine. I will eventually be looking at all of them.
