So it’s going to fail and they’re going to blame Graphene
Looks like it
Yah… Thats too much, if they cut that in half I would ignore it not being up to the repairability standards of fairphone, but if I cant expect that device to last 10 years then ill just wait for the next one…
Who are the customers for such a ridiculous thing?
As someone whos grew up on iPhones this feels reasonable for a high end product…
Reasonable is $900. Just because apple made a $2000 phone doesn’t mean everyone does.
I had a Nexus 4 for $300 way back when, and that was mighty premium enough. We’re all getting screwed and there is no savior. The water has been boiling for over a decade.
My current phone cost $500 and it’s more than powerful & capable enough. Android sucks to use but other than that I have no idea why anyone would get anything more expensive unless they need some really good camera.
Drug lords
Motherfuckers. I would have paid 1k - but that is ridiculous
I’ve always been a fan of Motorola - my current phone is the Edge plus and is 3 years old. Had to replace the battery but otherwise a solid phone. My phone budget has been as high as $500 but will never exceed that. 2k for a phone in this economy is beyond unacceptable. Its moronic. Still a phone and nothing special - just incremental improvements. I dont see this selling.
Oh my damn. I expected something expensive, but this is just way above what I expected.
The Graphene developers did say that future plans could entail even broader Motorola support from GrapheneOS, for cheaper models too. Let’s hope this will be the case…
I’m holding out for a 2027 Moto G.
Wow, this is really disappointing. I’ve been waiting for this to upgrade my older phone and finally get on GrapheneOS without using a Pixel. This is just straight up unaffordable for a large majority of the population. Shame on Motorola and Lenovo for this price point. Did you even try to read the room? Maybe someone will release a cheaper GrapheneOS phone next year. I’m sick of waiting for something reasonable to show up.
Jesus fucking Christ is it made of gold??
Where is it getting 1900 euros from? I’m seeing news saying it’s priced at 1600 USD which is around 1400 euros, not 1900.

Obviously still a steep price but thats 500 euros different.
Outside of price point, this is the first time I think I’ve seen a phone have 7000 mah battery. Thats like tablet levels of battery life which is kinda insane.
Some serious piss taking here.
Why are they taking my piss… :( what are they gonna use my piss for :((((
It used to be used for washing laundry, maybe someone is starting a new business
Always better to be pissed off than pissed on, I say
I always thought the same. Odd phrase.
welp refurbished pixel it is then
Personally, I already balked at the size of the screen (~6.8"). The ridiculous price is just the final nail in the coffin.
Mini tablets were 7 inches.
It’s ridiculous; how am I meant to fit something half the size of my dick in my pocket?
How am I meant to fit something seven times the size of my dick in my pocket?
Wait, is this really the size of a nexus 7?
Just let it hang and sway, let it out bro. This is 🦅 America 🇺🇸, bitches! gunfire, big macs showering from the sky, and jets flying over in formation
(and if you don’t live here then we can bring you some freedom too, and you too can let your freak flag fly)
Yikes, I hadn’t looked into the screen size until you mentioned it. They seem to be going after the XL / tablet size type of devices, exactly the ones that I avoid. Oh well, maybe they’ll eventually release a phone with a more normal screen size closer to 6.3".
Couldn’t agree more. I’m currently on the Pixel 6a, and in spite of having perfectly average-sized hands, I feel its 6.1" display is unwieldy. 6.8" is just bonkers.
Not paying more than €700 for anything with a bump that big.
A phone that is >10mm thick in 2026 for €1400-1900? No SD card slot? No 3.5mm port?
Fuck off ahaha, what are we even paying for?!
just one more camera bro, they will pay more than for a pc, trust be bro
$1900 and still no headphone jack.
Which would make their claim even more wrong because a nominal tax rate of 10% would make that price $1758.9.
But either way, the point is, $1900 @!$ €1900 aren’t the same and either their dollar sign was a typo or they misread.
$2,133.08 USD.

Not exactly. Europrices are always after taxes, Muricans always speak of prices before taxes (and tip, if applicable), so just mentally changing the € for $ or vice versa gets you a good enough approximation.
Also, even ignoring taxes, it’s pretty common for tech products to cost the same number of USD, EUR, and GBP.
