Many israelis are American nationalists and America provides israel the funds for their gear. There have even been pictures of American-israeli soldiers proudly wearing their American uniform in Gaza.

There appears to be a lot of cognitive dissonance when it comes to US complicity in the Genocide.

When it comes to any Houthi or Hezbollah topic invoking Iran is fine but the people funding israel can’t be named?

Literal pictures and videos of IDF soldiers wearing their American uniform. I have posted them a few months back if you’re willing to dig through my post history you’ll find them.

No, because a soldier wearing a patch is not the same as a soldier wearing the uniform which was what you said.

You’re conflating two things here, the twitter account claims something stronger.

And there it is another goalpost moved.

The “Am Yisrael Chai” , project has raised $1.5 million to buy 4,000 tactical helmets, and 25,000 pieces of clothingincluding tactical uniforms, fireproof overalls, and winter gear, and is literally saving lives

                  Surely now you concede

There have even been pictures of American-israeli soldiers proudly wearing their American uniform in Gaza.

                    Your words.

Did you mean “their American funded uniform” by your words or did you mean the uniform they own as an American service member?

By context maybe this is a misunderstanding and you meant the former, however your words more directly state the latter.

That is the only goalpost, your words. What did you mean by them?

If it’s the former, and you meant their uniform funded by the USA then ok I misunderstood you.

If it’s the latter then I still wait for you to provide any substance to back up your claim.

Here on Lemmy where the points are so small anyone with critical thinking skills can see what’s being said here. We all see you.

Could you clarify what you mean by “many Israelis are American nationalists”.

What is a nationalist to you, in this context?

Chewed on the no politics at the Olympics comment for myself and I think where I landed was that the Olympics should be apolitical. I do think these countries should be punished for their actions, however, with the number and types of international destabilizing events increasing, I think this is a quick win for international cooperation. Something all humans can get behind. Doping obviously should be punished, but that’s an athletic issue.

Obviously the precedent of excluding countries has been set, so there’d be vitriolic pushback, but I think it would be worth it to have one majorly public institution (read: in popular awareness) that doesn’t judge, it just lets athletes compete.

      Thoughts?
