That is good, although I notice only Latin America got included out of the western hemisphere. (US is 11. 1.
The 21st century seems like a repeat of the 20th. A terrorist attack sets off a world wide war, a global pandemic, an economic boom resulting in major crash, sufferage given to repressed minority groups, and the rise/popularity of far-right movements. But we are only up to the 20s, so expect in the future:
-A long lasting economic depression due to deregulation and over-valuation of companies in the 20s,
-Isolationism in the US
-Economic issues in Russia due to war
-Election and control of counties given to far right movements/dictators.
Cap it off with a world wide war starting next decade where nuclear weapons will be used. (quarter to half billion dead).
b/c life’s rough, bringing some… not exactly cheer but -
Like a billion lifted outta poverty in this graph

Now you say this as a prediction, buuuuuuut…you just described Russia’s whole existance for like…the past 1200 years.
And in about 80 years we’ll get another Band of Brothers.

Don’t tell the people of Lemmy that capitalism and global trade are a large reason for the decline in overall poverty though.
Capitalism is the root cause of poverty, my guy
Lol.
Before capitalism and free trade, 90% of the global population was in extreme poverty. It’s now down to 10%.
Since China and other countries ended communism, poverty has declined faster than at any other point in human history.
😂😂
Great argument, that.
Always wait for validation from random bootlicking Internet trolls before feeling accomplishment, that’s my motto.
Still waiting for you to make any kind of counterpoint…
