Almost literally a conversation I had. Started out political, then went on the mermaids and how the earth is really made up of giant bones or something.

    Literal brain rot

I feel like a few years ago, “you are just insane” would work. In this post-factual period though, there is too many “just insane” people. I remember when disinformation was mostly harmless on the greater scale. It’s not the case now.

Even in hyper-conservative NW Florida I can’t remember the last time I saw a red hat. Not only MAGA hats, but any red hat. Had to chunk a perfectly nice Under Armor because it was that shade of red.

The county where I live voted Trump 3 to 1 in the last election. MAGA hats and flags are rare. I think they assume everyone here is on the same idiot page and don’t need to signal group identity.

I have a red Spider-Man hat that says “Thwip!” on the front in blue, but I don’t wear it because I don’t want to get judged (or hit) from behind.

That must be why I didn’t get covid. I like tonic water. Must be that one drink doctors don’t want you to know about

Back in 2017 there was a guy in my town who would constantly wear a maga hat and sing praises about trump. We’re not in America, we’re in Iceland. He was not American and had no ties there. I no longer work at a place where I have to interact with him.
