Which distros are you using on laptop? I have a gaming laptop, I’ve been procrastinating on the switch because I dont want to lose some things. I really enjoy the control software for the lights and fans that it came pre-installed with, for example

Birth centers are incredibly common now. And home births are preferred among certain people, like anti-vaxers and sovereign citizens

Omg, look how much she’s filled out! I think I’ve missed a few of your posts, Sandy looks so healthy and happy!

I have two friends who recently graduated with electrical engineering degrees, and they can’t find work where they live. If you’re able to apply across the country and move, that may give you better results, but they are both now looking for jobs outside of their degree focus. One is actually doing IT for the university he earned his EE BS from, but there’s no opportunity for growth there because it’s an incredibly tiny school and community.
It’s been over a decade since I worked in tech, but experience was king. I’m earning a degree in biology now, because by the time I left Microsoft I knew how easy it would be to automate my job

As a fellow flat-footed human that prefers putting weight on one foot, you might need to get over-protonation insoles. I’ve found they really force me to put weight on both feet and they do protect your ankles as well. I have been happy with PowerStep Maxx in the past, but it’s been a couple years since I purchased new ones.
I’ve also been told by a podiatrist to get Hoka shoes, but that’s outside my price range lol

“forest spirit in autumn” I wrapped some silk flowers and leaves onto a headband with suede cord, glued pieces of the remainder to my face and body, and wore flowy clothes that I already own.
Cost: $5.88

He put his hand on my lower back after puberty, where before he’d just hold my hand. I should probably have clarified that. My dad was not an affectionate man.
This was also in the early 00s when purity balls were common, so having attended one of those I definitely feel like his hand placement was possesive

My mother did not. My father may have, but what I remember is when I was older and he started putting his hand on my back when we were out together. That was weird and possesive
My parents did not love me lol
I always thought that part of the song was about domestic violence, and she’s covering up bruises. I guess it could also be covering up injection bruises

Edit: one of the answers below made me realize there may differences across generations and localities. I’m an elder millenial, and I’m in the US.
It depends on where you are, if you’re in a loud bar or a club it’s more common to use the buddy system when going to the bathroom. Sometimes someone will ask you to go with them if they are stressed or annoyed at something and want to talk about it, but that’s rare in my experience.
Take a lipstick or something and “touch up” your makeup. That way you’re waiting for them without seeming like you’re waiting. But yes, generally you wait until your friend is ready to return. If it’s a crowded restroom it’s okay to wait outside, it’s up to you if you want to tell your friend that you’ll just be outside the door
It’s okay to say “oh, I’ll go with you” if you also need to use the restroom and it’s not a loud and energetic venue. Sometimes ya just gotta go and don’t realize until someone else is getting up lol

By the time I was a teenager I had some idea that what was happening to me wasnt “normal” but I didn’t understand just how bad it was until I was an adult. My peers would sometimes stare in shock at what I was complaining about, but I think if an adult had tried to intervene I might have understood the severity of my parent’s actions.
Young me was fairly terrified of everything, but I think we would bond over music. I work with teens that have similar issues now, so I know I’d at least be able to put myself at ease lol

I went back and forth between something I typically listen to everyday like Spiritbox, and something I love but don’t listen to all the time like Blank Banshee.
Blank Banshee won, Frozen Flame
This is maybe an odd choice, but I’d make Cher listen to it. She was the first major artist to use autotune (in my memory at least). So maybe she’d be more open to the heavily technology-dependent parts of vaportrap too

he was 'killed in the most brutal way possible
He was reportedly housed on a wing alongside murderers, killers, rapists and paedophiles, whom he (Watkins) branded “the worst of the worst”
It’s fucked up how hard the article goes into trying to garner sympathy for this guy. His crimes are horrific, and he was in that wing because he is the worst of the worst

I can never decided if Thomas or Roberts is worse. Sometimes I think Roberts has some standards, just exceptionally low/evil ones. While Thomas seems completely bought and paid for

I’m not here to downplay those problems in China. They are serious. But, that’s not the government saying they don’t care about children, it’s saying that they have their own racist and bigoted political problems.
And, if you’ve paid any attention, the US is doing really similar things and has been for a long time. We made some progress with the Civil rights movement, but we still have Black people arrested at 2x the rate of white, 37% of the prison pop is Black while they only represent 13% of the general pop. The education system has all but erased the cultural roots of Black Americans, and God forbid a Black teen uses slang to communicate. Most of the sectioning off of voting areas in the US is to minimize their and other minority’s voting power. For now it’s still legal to say “Hey this influencer really made life bad for me, and I’m okay with him being dead”, but it may not remain legal for long. EPA regulations are being dissolved, but the biggest problems will affect traditionally/forced Black neighborhoods.

Where are you getting the idea that the government in China doesn’t care about their children?

Hey man, you’re the one that brought up rules. But while we’re talking about international rules, gene editing of embryos and their descendants is legal in the US if it’s privately funded. And it’s not illegal internationally to do so
Also, I’d be less worried about CRISPR specifically for this use, because it’s not always accurate, is limited in what it can actually do, and there are better gene editing tools now

But our side has rules, you assume they play by the rules.
China academia has the same problem that US academia has: publish or perish.
And seriously, you can’t say something like that and ignore all the BS the US government has been pulling internationally for decades. Trump murdered 14 random people on boats that weren’t even in US territory, and seemingly no one on the international stage gives a shit
