Now I’m juat trying to use up my works money so they realize it’s stupid to use AI for everything. They put a cap in how many credits I can use, so it’s not endless. I kinda just wish they would stop trying to shove it down our throats.

I mean sure, but rogue AI weapons are just as likely to kill us all as they are to help us. Not everything humans do needs to be about war. Besides, we can already send a cruise missile halfway around the world. How much more lethal do we need to get? Spy satellites all over the place (and even space weapons now, which i thought we all agreed not to do). Shits getting scary. Eventually we’ll wipe ourselves put with these silly games we play, if climate change doesn’t do it first for us, which is a whole other can of worms.

I’m doing my part by continuing to ask chatgpt questions constantly without paying them money. I have started using Claude at work as well. If I do it enough, they’ll eventually all realize it’s expensive af, and give up on it. That’s the hope anyway.

Yes, that’s not a stupid take at all. Governments all over the world have show over and over that they are terrible stewards of people’s interests. Why wouldn’t you want worker and citizen owned things instead?

It is literally the one thing we do that is amazing, and awe inspiring, and reaches across political, socioeconomic, and social boundaries. If we as a species can’t even come together to agree that we should be pushing the boundaries of what it means to be human, I don’t know what to tell you. We are gonna be stuck on this rock until a cosmic event wipes us out. And that’s just sad for us.

I disagree, you can’t make Mars an afterthought. It requires international cooperation to go there. And it’s not an either or type of deal anyway. NASA can focus in multiple things at once. Hell, we have an entire center at NASA dedicated to Earth observing satellites that monitor the health of the Earths ecosystems. I know bcz I work there. Trust me, we do care about the Earth, and we are trying to fix it. It ain’t the scientists and engineers at NASA that are trying to ignore the health of our planet.

Really? Is nothing safe these days? I just switched my email to Proton recently from Gmail. It’s been a long time coming, and I still can’t ditch it completely bcz I have had it for over 10 years and some stuff still uses it.
