There’s basically two sorts of people: the one’s willing to overlook the aesthetics and the one’s who aren’t. There’s a reason hospital staff wear them. They are not designed to look good, they are designed to let the humidity from your sweat evaporate instead of letting it accumulate into a damp breeding ground ripe for a host of foot conditions. For some people it will matter more than others.
There’s plenty of Crocs designs that don’t look ugly, but I hope they continue to be unpopular as that keeps them cheap. It’s risky to switch to other brands with this sort of design, Crocs got it right.
Medical people are wearing them to avoid ruining shoes with body fluids, not for sweat or breathability.
Hospitals are gross.
Source: have medicaled before.
Crocs are also good for wearing for 14 -18 hour shifts too, though, right?
I personally can’t be sure, longest I’ve ever worn them on clinicals was 12 hours. I didn’t really feel they were that comfy that long. I did more EMT work and that required a different shoe. I had 24 hour shifts there. So I just used cute leather boots and they stayed outside my house cus they got gross. I felt more comfy and support in proper footwear personally. Kind of the same when in the military and deployed.
But everyone is different.
A. hospital staff definitely don’t wear Crocs, they’re actually forbidden at every hospital I’ve worked at for being open-topped
B. The last time I bought Crocs they were 75USD for an adult and 35USD for babies sizes. That’s not far off the price of actual running shoes
A. Another comment (and my own observations - not even in the US, so no idiocracy factor either) prove otherwise. They claim it’s to deal with bodily fluids (I guess sweat doesn’t count for them). B. Not a shared reality. Your market, your choices I guess, but even amazon.com (US market) disagrees on the prices you are claiming.
So crocs are for sweaty people.
😁
Good thing you will never have to worry about that!
I have weirdly wide feet and crocs are the first shoes I’ve tried that I can wear all day long and not be in pain. I don’t care what they look like, I am just overjoyed I can walk around the city all day and don’t want to cry 5 minutes in cause my feet hurt too much.
I use Crocs like they are final form flipflops. Any time I’d be comfortable wearing flipflops, I just wear crocs instead. People hate on them mostly because of internet groupthink conditioning (see also: pineapple on pizza and the word ‘moist’).
huh. i never thought about crocs that way. i can’t wear flip flops for [doxxable reasons] but crocs could work. i just really really don’t like the way they look and already have good sandals. sandals that are in desperate need of maintenance because they’re old enough to rent a car. hmmm.
if i find out you’re a BRAND salesman i’ma come after you and we’ll have to i don’t know, get coffee and bagels or something and YOU’LL HAVE TO BUY THE BAGELS. you seem like a pleasant dude and that seems like a fair exchange.
Have you looked at some of their new, esoteric models? You might get along with those better.
Honestly, I stopped caring. They’re so goddamn comfortable, I can wear them outside in the dirt and simply wash them, I love the things.
Cross are cheap?
Certainly not that I’ve seen.
Mine were $25 new so yeah, they are cheap if you actually look. They are also really durable.
I still wear my first pair, 10+ years, bought at a yard sale. The heels are worn slam off. They are fantastic for walking on hard surfaces, especially getting 10k+ steps. And not all Crocs have literal holes. They are affordable work wear. A pair I recently bought for work were less than 35 USD, brand new, shipping included. I look forward to another decade. And as for the holes, in the Deep Southern swampy areas, they’re really nice (unless you happen across a gator or venomous snake, I guess).
That’s 2.5k INR. My Puma running shoes are for 1.5k INR lol.
The fuck is his problem? Bullet dodged
He has taste
Right, who wants normal will taken care of feet when you could have sore, curly punky toe, bunion covered feet.
I can’t figure out if you like or hate Crocs
For the record, I love my Crocs
Crocs are worn by nurses on there feet so day for a reason
I think is because you cant measure properly a feet with a crock so he surrender easy
Why are you all booing? He’s right!
the misspelling was unforgivable
That’s sad. I usually butcher the everliving hell out of my comments on first go
Went on a date wearing crocs. At first she laughed at me. By the end she was wearing them.
Is this a three sentence horror story?
Based prince. There are two types of people in this world: ones who like Crocs, and ones with good taste.
No. There are two types of people in this world: ones who like Crocs, and ones who never tried them on.
The only time when I don’t wear Crocs is when it’s raining.
I always thought they were pretty dumb, then my daughter asked for some. They had a buy two get one free sale, so I picked up a pair free for myself. They are so comfy, and if people do not like my shoes they can piss off.
I used to think they were silly. My son got some and I tried them on… I now have my own. They are great when you just want to slip something on rq.
Just one pair? O own 4. One for the house, one for the outside, one for walking around the garden and one I keep at my parents house for when I come visit.
She’s probably comfortable though.
Meh, for short distances or just standing around maybe. There are much more supportive clogs that don’t feel like all the energy in every step you take gets soaked into a rubber sponge and that don’t look like you’ve given up on life.
There are a lot of other more comfortable shoes in the world…
A lot of less comfortable shoes, too. And those tend to be much more expensive.
