I want a ghost in the shell game of this quality
Stand Alone Complex on PS2 was pretty good for the time, IMO. Its hard to properly mix third person shooting with martial combat in a way that makes them.both feel important, and I think SAC did it decently well, even surpassing Oni in some ways. Oni does better I think with the camera and martial combat but weapons feel really strange to use in Oni.
I hate how big the time skip seems to be, I suppose it’s a consequence of offering multiple endings in the first game.
I hope they make the protagonist less bland this time. I don’t mind a sexy main character if it fits their personality (eg Bayonetta) !
Thank you for voicing my exact thoughts!
Wow. That’s some fan service…
It looks good but I truly hope they stepped up the story and environment. I played the first game and quit within 1,5 hour.
Was tired of the forced sexualization, boring enemies and didn’t like the combat much.
I get that sex appeal is part of Stellar Blade’s thing but I would love this so much more without the anime girl with a massive ass and the camera zooming in on it every two seconds, because the game itself looks really solid.
Stop overreacting
She literally has a normal sized ass if not even a bit small…? Like I can get burn out on overly sexualized games.
But seriously if THIS is “massive” for you. Then you have extremely serious issues with what you consider to be a healthy body shape. There is plenty of anime girl nonsense going on here. But her ass is by far the literal least of it.
Her ass is absolutely normal sized. Like mine is bigger and I’m neither overweight nor an anime girl.
When something is too in-the-face, it stops being sexy and becomes kinda cringe.
It’s possible costumes could alleviate that. The first game had a variety; some of them less sexualized than others.
But yeah, I can see it causing problems when you get sick of it.
I would be less on board if every game did it, but I’m perfectly fine with it in this game.
Yeah this is my main thing. I miss it being an OPTION when I’m in that type of mood. I don’t need it to be industry standard. Could you imagine that for something like The Last of Us?
Now that Sony isn’t publishing, do we expect this to be available on PC much sooner than the original?
It says at the beginning this is captured on PC.
the environment art is looking good, the main character is looking very suspect though. i know with the first game they scanned an actual korean model for their main character and advertised her as such (wow look at how sexy she is - and the woke mob can’t even say we’re sexualizing her because that’s a real sexy model we put in a bodysuit and scanned in!) but then it turned out they still edited her 3d model to make her even sexier. then there’s the weird controversy about outfits it had, and just the general nastiness of the game and audience. who knows what the second game will be like.
Either there’s a major timeskip, because where the fuck did this cyberpunk metropolis come from given the original post-apocalyptic setting, or this is a prequel kicking off the apocalypse.
BLOOD RAIN will continue the story beyond the events of the first game and introduce a new protagonist, Evie.
That doesn’t necessarily mean a sequel though. I mean, yes, this trailer could actually be taking place in the Colony, but aesthetics don’t really match Eidos 7 and the spaceships that we see in the game.
someone feel free to correct me, but isnt the whole setting like…waifu 40k? the bodysuit squads are some sort of expeditionary force for a larger interplanetary empire i though?
presumably this game is set on another planet
didnt play the orginal, just going off of trailers
spoiler
At the beginning of the game, you’re told that Earth was overrun by monsters, and your character is part of a task force intended to take the planet back. Partway the game, it’s revealed that in the past, there was a machine rebellion that got interrupted by the monsters appearing. The end of the game reveals that all the humans in the game (including your character) are actually robots, because after the machines wiped out the original humans the survivors turned themselves into monsters for revenge.
It’s crazy how this just sounds like you are describing neir automats
I wasn’t expecting a change of protagonist, but her combat seems interesting. I’ll be interested to learn more.
I’m fine with sexy games but this is a kid. And don’t bs me with robot/1000 year old dragon/asians look young sometimes crap.
This game is a litmus test. Keep an eye out for people who play it.
Yeah, you’re getting downvoted by creeps on Lemmy but this is creepy as fuck. It looks like a child’s face was attached to a woman’s body. First game was a pretty overt in its sexuality but this is… something else.
Must… flash… ass… and… crotch… ALWAYS
Seriously, isn’t it time to agree that this is a little gross?
Sex sells. Its fine to have some horny once and a while.
As long as they are of legal age

hmmm,… looks entirely like an excuse to peek at Lolita’s ass. Tight clothing, jiggle physics, preposterous camera angles.
This is the best cyberpunk city I’ve seen in a while though
I hope the combat and movement improve over the original. Everything felt slow and rigid.
Also, writing was very low tier but that comes a distant second to the combat and movement.
