Like those people on imdb that NEVER give a 10 to anything, as if something needed to be perfect to be a 10, as if something could be perfectly free of any flaws.

I had a teacher like that. He thought this would animate the students to be better (by making the best grade basically unobtanium). It of course had the very opposite effect.
Some people are just that stupid.

Some people see the scale differently, as you said, like a 10 is an impossible goal and they rate based on how close they got. I don’t use it that way personally, though.
