It was a German airship and it did have swastikas on it. While a novelty being the largest airship, the pride of Nazi Germany blowing up in New Jersey while full of rich assholes is fine with me.

I was so sure that was two different photographs at first, didn’t understand what the photo of the ice truck was there for. Really cool photo!

What cool looking garage doors on that mansion…

Actually, I bet that is a multi tenant building with mixed commercial space of a shop at street level, a restaurant above, residential on the third and fourth floors, and a mother in law apartment over the garage. That latter is like my dream home at this stage in my life with my disability. Access to that kind of space near by under my living quarters would be so handy and useful to me, especially if I was in an area with immediately nearby groceries and basic goods.

You can actually go visit a museum in Lakehurst that has pieces of the airship. It was pretty surreal to see

I’ve been to Lakehurst countless times and genuinely didn’t know this. Is it in the Naval base?

Nah, a tiny old converted church in town, oddly enough. I think there is some sort of exhibit on base though, just never been to it.
