  • I have nasty cough for weeks after cold itself passes. The throat is irritated by cough, which leads to more cough. Sometimes can’t sleep because of this, and usually have to get codeine pills to stop the cycle.

Oddly, this has become a problem only in recent years — possibly because when I’m among people or occupied by physical work, I’m paying little attention to the irritation, but I’m working from home all day lately, so no such diversions anymore.

  • One doctor informed me that I have a chronic inflammation of the throat, which half of our large northern city also have, and best I can do is protect the throat from cold air by breathing through the nose.

I’m also rather non-muscular, particularly in regard to the neck, and thus get cold easily in the parts that aren’t layered with fat. Namely, if I have the window cracked open for fresh air in the autumn or spring while I sleep, the throat gets sore and I can develop a full-blown cold.

I’ve also been drinking lots of cold beverages this summer, and now I really seem to have a nasty inflammation in the throat, that leads to annoying irritation and cough. This is while I’m asocial, stay inside a lot and have little contact with people.

  • So how did that work, did every fuel company have a patent for lead additives? Then this means the patents didn’t stop any one of them from having these additives, which is the supposed function of patents.

And if any one of them got the exclusive patent, the others could just use ethanol, which didn’t happen.
