Hello my dears :3
So rn I’m going by Jamie and there’s a lot I really like about this name. Its meaning works well (she, who supplants), it’s the name of my favorite skater when I was a kid, it does have a nice ring to it.
But when I chose it to play with, I didn’t know where my journey would lead to. Now that I do I’m just not sure I like the ambiguity.
That being said, I wonder, how did you all pick your new names? Does it have a special meaning to you? Anything in particular that made you go like “Yes, that’s it, that’s me!”?
€: Thanks for sharing everyone (and keep going :3)! Definitely some inspiration in there.

First I wanted to keep my initials partly for convenience, but also they’re part of the name I use for publishing music.
My first name I initially thought about from someone who was a bit of an unfulfilled teenage love as well as someone I respected quite a lot. Though I also just like the name a lot. And shortening it creates a very non-binary name that is rare but is masculine in some cultures and feminine in others. That is the one I mostly actually use.
Middle name first I though of due to a favorite singer, but also happens to mean something that is something I considered extremely beautiful.
I don’t think there’s any name I’d think, “that’s me,” about. Maybe partly because I dont think in words really. I consider it a label and way of communicating and so it just needed to be one I liked hearing. I normally probably wouldn’t think I would choose such an ordinary first name, either, but it just fell into place, has emotional connection, if not exactly intense, and fits my gender which is agender with feminine presentation.
